these days, whenever i see stuff like that, all i can do is sigh... like what gives women the confidence to demand their husbands' paychecks every month and tell them to hand over control of the finances? this should be made into a national exam too so they can study for it. you get an allowance, save it up as emergency money, and hide it, then your wife finds it, chews you out like hell, and takes it away..... is this seriously right?
I’m in favor of creating an exam for this.
These days, there are far too many people who mistake ideas formed solely by dramas—with no evidence or background knowledge—for their own beliefs.
even so i seriously don't get what the hell is wrong with trying to control even their allowance like it's literally just leftover spending money so why won't they let their husbands spend even that however they want
These crazy bitches are spouting bullshit again lol. The guy says he’ll earn his own money and keep control of his own finances, and they’re like, “What...?” lol
it's not like she graduated with a degree in economics, understands how money flows, or knows how to spend it wisely. if she doesn't have even one of those three, what the hell is going through her dumbass head that makes her think she should be given control of the money
Handing over control of the finances? Sure, I can do that. If she has better financial sense than I do, I’d give it to her. The problem is that some women take control of the finances, criticize me for buying games and spending money on my hobbies with my own money, then turn around and blow my money on luxury crap themselves.
If you want to control the finances, then do whatever you want with the money you earned yourself.
At least then, there wouldn’t be much for the man to object to.
In any organization, power comes from control over finances and personnel decisions.
A household is a place where personnel authority isn't necessary, so control over the finances is effectively power.
You give up financial control and devote yourself, only to be treated as disposable. At the very least, you absolutely need to protect control over your own finances
what’s fucking hilarious is that it doesn’t matter whether the husband is a financial planner, accountant, or tax accountant, or how good he is at managing money. apparently you’re just supposed to let her win and hand over control of the finances lol. in the end, how is that any different from her going “waaah, i’m gonna blow all your money however i want”
it’s true that someone who’s financially capable, like Jun Hyun-moo, handing his wife complete control over the finances is pretty unsettling. but the perspective of women whose careers get interrupted by childbirth and raising kids is also very much a reality, and once you get married, your life is basically placed in the husband’s hands. you end up living off your husband’s money every month, and when he knows the budget for everything you buy, it’s understandable that you wouldn’t like feeling watched in every little thing you do. in that case, the next-best option would probably be for Jun Hyun-moo to give her a certain percentage of what he earns and not interfere at all. of course, most families aren’t wealthy like Jun Hyun-moo’s, which is why dual-income households are becoming more common, so there’s really no reason for us to get worked up over that post... that’s the kind of problem only Jun Hyun-moo has
Whether it's the man or the woman, the one who's better at managing the household finances or makes more money should control the purse strings—that's how you keep a family afloat... If a couple of idiots who seem like they'd be stuck in some bottom-tier civil service position are in charge of the money, they'll never save a dime
been thinking this a lot lately but if it looks like you won't have control over the finances you're probably better off calling off the engagement in the first place there's no way you can have a normal marriage with a woman who's trying to take control of the money
In the first place, giving your spouse control of the household finances and having them manage them could be seen as a division of labor meant to ease the burden on a husband who’s busy or exhausted from work, so when did this become a right?
ive wondered for a long time why women manage their own finances
im not saying this to be sexist but statistically women make more impulsive purchases
its not like the idea that men are rational and women are emotional came out of nowhere
Back when patriarchal society was the norm, men were often too busy with work to worry about managing the money, so women handled the finances while taking care of the household, kind of as part of supporting their husbands. Over time, that got twisted into what we have now—being given an allowance and monitored over how much you receive and what you buy.
women who think like that are mistaken because the reason our mothers' generation used to control the household finances wasn't simply to empower women, but because they took care of all the housework as homemakers it was literally a division of roles, yet men obviously know that women these days are just asking for control of the finances because they want to live comfortably off the money their husbands earn, and even so they're stirring people up with lies and fabrications, claiming that this is misogyny
can't win on logic so even the whining about letting them win is perfect lol
