7.18 World Championship Patch Notes

Hello, this is Riot Games. 

As you all know, this patch is the World Championship patch. Accordingly, we have been closely observing the play of champions being used in professional matches in each region, and have adjusted champions that are too powerful in competitive play as well as those that frequently appear but are underperforming. 

Now, let's go over the contents of this patch. 

Faker

Faker has been a consistent presence in the World Championship since the 2013 season. After observing the play of those who picked Faker (LeBlanc, Yasuo, Zed, etc.), we found that no one could match his performance. Therefore, we are looking to nerf Faker in this World Championship patch. A specific Faker should not be too dominant in the lane. 

- Faker will now appear slightly less handsome on the World Championship broadcast. 

- Faker's face will now appear slightly smaller on the World Championship broadcast. 

- The coffee Riot Games provides to Faker will now have a bit less sugar. 

- Faker will now adjust his chair height himself. 

Blank

Blank has been the most powerful jungler in the world. Even games that were all but lost would turn into wins just by pulling out Blank. So we are looking to nerf Blank. 

- You can no longer pull out Blank in the 3rd set. 

- Peanut's popularity will now increase a bit. 

Ambition

The reason for nerfing Ambition is the same as for Blank. You shouldn't be able to win just by pulling out Ambition anytime. 

- The time it takes for Ambition to turn off the gas stove is increased. 

- The time it takes for Ambition to do household chores is increased. 

- Ambition's bat now deals true damage, but the damage is reduced. 

(P) Bat 

30~500 physical damage (at levels 1-18) -> 3~50 true damage (at levels 1-18) 

- You can no longer pull out Ambition in the 3rd set. 

Ezreal 

Ezreal has long been a popular champion in the bot lane. However, as other bot lane champions have become powerful, Ezreal has grown weaker. He has even recorded the lowest win rate among bot laners recently, and some are now playing him mid or jungle. But Ezreal was originally designed for the bot lane. So we researched ways to make him viable as a bot lane marksman, and realized the answer was not far away. 

- Ezreal's hair color is changed. 

- Ezreal's parents are brought back to life. 

Ardent Censer 

It's true that this item has been quite powerful in the bot lane. We didn't have enough time to address the reality that buying this item alone makes the ADC incredibly strong. 

- Ardent Censer will not be available for purchase during the World Championship.
