Gameplay
He's pretty much a late-game champion, so he's weak in the early game. Don't try to force fights; play safe and just farm minions with E and auto attacks. I only recommend using W when there's a big wave of minions or when your health is really low because the mana cost is insane. Spamming E too much will also drain your mana, leaving you useless when you need to back or join a fight. Long story short, you need to manage your mana properly while csing. For your first recall, try to save up 1300 gold to buy Lost Chapter for the mana sustain. If you're able to keep up in lane compared to your opponent, save up more gold to buy an Amplifying Tome or Fiendish Codex. Or, if you hit level 6 first and learn your ultimate and see an angle to use it after recalling, check the laning phase screenshot to see where to position yourself (depending on which side's nexus you're on), get vision control, wait, and then ult in. It's even better if your support has CC. After the laning phase, when contesting objectives or in teamfights, try to engage first with your ultimate from a spot where the enemy doesn't have vision to set up a pick, or clean up a fight from the back to help your team win the fight favorably. He's essentially a support + damage champion, and unless you're incredibly fed and can kill them all by yourself, you need to use your fear to keep your team alive and let them deal free damage. After laning phase, when you need to defend turrets or contest objectives, use your ultimate by following the positions shown in the screenshots below. Since this build barely buys any defensive items, you're at high risk of getting blown up instantly if you get caught out of position. Make sure to keep good vision, and try not to wander alone – stick with your team whenever possible. It's not much different from a normal ADC. If you keep getting focused and dying first after ulting in, don't rush to finish Zhonya's and create a damage loss. Instead, just grab a Stopwatch first and only use it in fights you can win to survive. Even if the enemy is fed, you can usually win a 1v1 ambush scenario. If they're alone splitting and hitting a turret, ambush them with your ult and fight. The combo is: when the enemy is feared from your ultimate, use E - Q - W in that order. If they have a spell shield up from Banshee's or Edge of Night, or you didn't clear a ward, use Q - E - W instead. If they have Quicksilver Sash, just use E to slow them and chase them down. If you're chasing someone and you lose vision of them, see them coming back with help, or feel like you're overextending, it's better to just back off early and run. If the enemy is behind and comes to farm cs alone, hide in a nearby bush with vision control and wait. Even if they hesitate, they'll eventually come if you just wait it out. Then you can assassinate them and quickly recall. If you're in a standoff in an open area and can't land a surprise ultimate, just use E to poke or even just yolo dive in with your ultimate to create an engage for your team.
