Even for passive scaling picks, since both sides are less aggressive in lane, if you can survive the very early game, it seems like your performance improves a lot.
adc is always that kind of position, you can't do anything by yourself so when you get abandoned you just have to do that
and actually even if you get fed as adc you still can't do anything alone
so varus adc seems decent too these days
