Yeah I saw that too, in the argument about who played worse...
I can't get how it ended up being Varus's fault for not tracking Renata W cd when they're in a 3-stack queue.
On the flip side, Renata knows her own W cd better than anyone, so she must've known you can't win against a fed Kalista when your crucial W is on cd...
Plus, pinging ult was basically signaling 'let's go kill Kali,' so why didn't she also ping W? That part's sus too.
Anyone can see Varus was right, but guess most of the chat's Iron/Bronze/Silver so they just got circlejerked into mob mentality.
하세기소류에겟돈fr tho... anyone can see Renata was way more at fault, but people saying Varus played badly? honestly it's not even a difference of opinion, it just sounds like low elo talk
I mean okay maybe you can accept the result, but they were literally begging him to just take one look, and instead he starts attacking them personally and dogpiling on them to the point of giving them trauma... and with over 1000 viewers, getting flamed by a thousand people really does leave trauma, even if it's the internet fr
ngl asking the rat who just hit GM recently would be way more believable lol
There're so many challenger youtubers that do nothing but spectate games but he had to pick this one...
I still can't wrap my head around the idea that a Master tier ADC is supposed to keep track of their support's W cooldown when that support builds ability haste.
Like, even Peanut was impressed that Delight was tracking Maokai ult cooldown exactly — expecting a Master tier ADC to play around Renata's W timing is just unrealistic.
Also, if you watch the clip, Varus popped his bubble based on Renata's movement — he fired it when Renata was about to get vision of Kalista. If Renata's W was on cooldown, she should've either waited or pinged back.
If she pings her ult, Varus would naturally think W is up — he didn't even fire the bubble immediately. There's just no way Varus is at fault here.
Varus should've gone first.
From Kalista's perspective, Renata was looping back around from the dragon pit — she just cleanses the CC, kills her, and dips. Problem solved.
조이꿈나무Then Varus should've been even more precise with his point. Instead of saying "I lost because mindless Renata didn't ping her W," he should've made the point that Renata's positioning—turning back toward dragon—was the mistake.
I watched the video and honestly, if we're just talking about who played better from the start, Barus was right to win. But at the same time, Barus just framed the argument wrong, and Gjaeman made the call based on the point Barus himself brought up, which is fair, isn't it? They're splitting hairs, and if Barus feels wronged, he should have made his point clearly from the start.
If Varus wanted to win he shouldve picked a fight on like, 'who played better overall, Renata was positioned wrong'
He shouldn'tve latched onto 'Renata didn't ping w and that's why we lost'
The vid was way too long so I didn't watch the whole thing, I only checked the in-game play around the 11-minute mark. The point isn't about why they took the Pinwheel trap path though—it's about who played better and who didn't, right? In that case, Renata was the one who messed up. Because Varus pinged he was going, and the fight was going to happen at the tri-bush anyway—if it didn't, Renata should have either died or backed off. Her pathing was already wrong there. So it was an unavoidable fight, and Renata even pinged that she had ult. That means she needed to step up. If you watch the play, while Varus was getting spears stacked and ripped apart by Kalista, all Renata did was auto-attack and throw E. She didn't ult, didn't land Q to force cleanse, and Guardian procced only after Varus was basically dead. Then she finally used the rest of her spells after he died. That alone shows she has no champ mastery. And which ADC in the world actually tracks Renata's W cooldown while playing? lol Is this Challenger or something? ADCs have no info on whether Renata maxed W first or not—how many players in this game can compute Ionian boots + Kindlegem ability haste on the fly? That argument makes no sense.
If Renata had played well, Varus wouldn't have died there and Kalista should have been the one dead. When Varus hops in on the pinecone and Kalista moves in to auto, if Renata had ulted at that moment when Varus had 3 or 4 spears in him, Kalista would have been hit by the frenzy and she didn't have cleanse at that point either. Then after that Renata's W would have come off cooldown, E would have hit proccing Guardian, and Q would have landed weakening Kalista's passive again — this is just a Renata skill issue plain and simple.
And if the point of contention was the blast cone, then yeah, Varus was in the wrong. If he was already planning to go for that play and both sides had the tri-bush warded, why would he even take the blast cone and walk into enemy range.. lol. Once you take the blast cone, you can't immediately cast a spell or auto attack, so you're guaranteed to get hit first — that was definitely the wrong call. And if he was gonna take it, he should've gone down toward the river. The enemy had no vision down there, and Kalista was already setting up to catch Varus anyway, plus there was no vision in front of dragon. So Kalista was basically confined to her own vision. That means Varus and Renata would've had the first-move advantage and could've secured the kill much safer and easier.

I seriously don't get how you'd trust that dude with a million won after watching him giggle at unhinged edgy chat messages and parent-bashing slurs.
