I was fine hanging around D4, but then I wanted to tryhard, so I started grinding ranked. Felt like I could hit D3, so I went for it and made it.
Climbed mostly as a Sejuani one-trick. She's been nerfed by now, but she's not a trash tier champ — she's decent enough.
1. Diamond 5 is an absolute hellhole, everyone knows it. Took me over 100 games to get through it this season. D4 only took about 20-something games.
2. I haven't played a ton of games, but I can clearly feel the skill gap between D3 and D5.
3. In D3 you run into players with mechanics that are hard for average people like me to keep up with.
4. No matter what elo you're in, there's always someone running their mouth and breaking the team's mental. (I don't type aggressive stuff unless we're 99% guaranteed to lose.)
5. Unless you're Challenger, team luck from having smurfs on your side or against you is always a factor.
lol I agree with point 3. You really start to see players who seem to have made it to Diamond purely on mechanics.
