Peripherals & Environment
1. Mouse Grip
One pic explains it all. The blue part of the hand is where it touches the mouse.
LoL isn't an FPS that needs pinpoint mouse accuracy, so I use grip #3.
It lets me move the mouse fast for easy kiting, but my wrist hurts T.T
Used to use palm grip, which is fine for OW or PUBG, but for LoL it's honestly trash.
2. Chair Armrests This is seriously important. You gotta adjust your chair height to find the right arm position. This accounts for like 20% of my LoL skill.
PC Settings
1. ★★★Refresh Rate (Hz) Setting★★★ Your monitor needs to support at least 144Hz for this. I don't know if it directly affects in-game FPS, but I'm talking about the importance of refresh rate. Right-click desktop - NVIDIA Control Panel - Change Resolution under the Display tab. I personally need at least 144Hz to play LoL. If I had 60Hz, I'd probably be worse than Gold. If it only shows a max of 60Hz here, no matter what settings you change, even if LoL shows 60+ FPS, it's actually 60FPS, so you need a new monitor. How big is the difference? It lets you dodge skillshots you normally couldn't. Remember that whole drama with scripts in LoL? This setting lets you kite at a script-level. If you're an ADC, you should really try this.
2. Gamma Adjustment
Right-click desktop - Personalization - Display - Color Calibration. Just adjust this one thing and skip everything else, no problem.
LoL In-Game Settings
1. Hotkeys
1-1 ~ : Target Champions Only This is really important. You wanna hit them once behind the turret but end up hitting the turret and dieing instead. How frustrating is that?
1-2 ★★★★**( ADC Only ) Attack Move on Left Click**★★★★ Literally a setting that makes you attack when you left click. This accounts for 50% of my LoL skill. It's a bit hard to get used to, but once you do, this one setting fixes kiting, reaction time, the delay from A-clicking, and movement mistakes from right-clicking. It's a really insane tip. The downside is that clicking the shop will move you instead, so when you recall, you have to open the shop with a hotkey. So I use V for the shop. And if you use this, you absolutely have to use quickcast.
2. Video
2-1 Hide Background Flora & Decoration + Disable Festival Map Decorations. I just turn off everything unnecessary.
2-2 Environment Quality - Very Low / Other Quality - Very High. Turning off environment quality makes the ground textures look really ugly, but it actually looks cleaner and makes kiting easier. Of course, finding what works for you is important. YMMV.
2-3 Max FPS Setting - Uncapped This follows from the PC refresh rate setting above. No point cranking up the refresh rate on your PC only to cap it in-game, right?
3. Audio
3-1 Music Volume Off I never listen to songs or music while playing LoL. Makes me want to smash the heads of those guys at PC bangs who blast music.
3-2 **★**Ambient Volume Off★ Important. This turns off all the subtle wind sounds and ambient effects. Sound directly affects my focus, so I always turn it off.
4. Interface
4-1 Show Summoner Names Off Distracting.
4-2 ★**Cursor Size 100**★ This accounts for about 10% of my LoL skill. If the cursor is too small, sometimes it's hard to find where it is.
4-3 Minimap Size 100 Look at your map.
4-4 Minimap Movement Disabled You're kiting back towards your tower on blue side but accidentally click the minimap and walk forward instead. How frustrating is that?
4-5 Show Skill Resource Cost On Lets you be more thoughtful with your spells when your mana is low.
4-6 Combat Text - Experience On Lets you check if you're getting XP or being denied.
5. Game
5-1 Gameplay - Auto Attack I use it for convenience, but supports should turn it on. It lets you check if a bush you're in is warded or not. If your champion starts hitting something when you stand still, it's a ward. If not, no ward.
5-2 Movement Prediction Off Please stop saying "oh, it feels laggy" and check if this is turned on. This setting was made back in the day for NA players with high ping.
I've said it before, but there are individual differences and finding what works for you is really important.
When you have time, go into Practice Tool, reset everything, and look through each setting one by one to find what suits you. Hope you climb. glhf.
As someone who made it all the way to Diamond 4 using an ancient office PC from the 2000s and just hopping into whatever random PC bang, this post feels really fresh and I got a lot to learn from it. So that's how it is — you gotta set up your own personal settings and actually get used to them for the game to feel easier T.T I'm not an ADC player so I probably won't get the same results as you, but still, thanks a lot for the tips. Upvoted.

League is actually lowkey an audio game too. You can hear stuff like brush recall sounds, Sion ult, Kled ult, Rammus Q — those kinds of things. Especially Rammus Q: say you're top and the river's warded. When Rammus rolls into vision, you can hear him if he's within a certain range. Oh, and for FPS settings, I remember hearing that cap it to your monitor/specs is better than just uncapping it.

how do you get to gamma settings?

I mean, you can feel the difference between 60 and 144 Hz after playing for a while, but it's not like your skill magically improves because of it or anything. I'd agree if it was an FPS game, but for League it's kinda meh... Honestly, up to Diamond, what matters is basic macro, understanding the lane, and knowing if you can win a fight in a given situation. Hz just gives you a tiny margin in skirmishes. If rank was decided solely by that, it wouldn't make sense — it's not like fast reaction speed alone gets you to a higher tier.
