At least depression is something they accept I have Asperger's (a type of autism) + inattentive ADHD, so I get rejected for everything

lol they think a 2-year wait for active duty is something people are dodging. these days even public service has a long waitlist.

Nah, that's just because you were a public service worker and never saw what happens when a mental case gets assigned to your unit as active duty. If a psycho gets deployed as active duty, you're lucky if they contribute 0 — they're more like a -3 contribution, so it's better not to take them.

So the psychiatrist told me to change careers, so I ended up dropping out of school. Now I'm studying for a certification at an academy, but even if I pass and get certified next year, I still can't get a job, and I'm also banned from leaving the country.

Actually, I think they should just rate those people below Grade 5 (the lowest tier) and give them an outright exemption instead. At least, that's what I think, and I've already completed my military service. In case you don't believe me, I'll add that I served as an artilleryman in Cheorwon, was discharged as a Sergeant (만기전역), and it's been almost a year since then. This month marks my first year of reserve force training.

꼬북꼬북꼬부기My psychiatry professor thought I'd get grade 5 or 6, but the fucking Military Manpower Administration gave me grade 4 instead. At least I'm exempt from the 3-week basic military training and reserve forces, but you can't request a re-evaluation for psychiatric conditions.

Just send everyone to the military. There are over 10 people I know who are either exempt or public service workers, yet I'm stuck as active duty. Pisses me off so much. They're all in good shape and strong, but here I am—height minus weight is 115, grip strength under 30, straight-up a twig..

if your grip strength is under 30kg must be tough to do everyday stuff...

    2. Bro I had 30 grip strength when I was in 6th grade and THIS is supposed to be active duty material? You serious?

Nah, undrafted guys on the extended waitlist have always been banned from leaving the country. This is because of those motherfuckers who fled overseas.

Yeah, was diagnosed with borderline intellectual functioning back in 6th grade. They said even now, except for certain areas, my IQ is still way behind average.

Nah, borderline intellectual functioning isn't just about being dumb in the way we think of it. It covers stuff like empathy, reality perception — even really subtle things like that.

the whole 'public service worker' system was literally created just because people got salty seeing disabled folks who couldn't serve in the military not go to the army. it doesn't do jack for the public good—it's straight up conscripting disabled people solely because their existence 'pisses people off.' even japan's forced labor during the colonial era didn't conscript the disabled lol

no young people left to draft... and women are constitutionally guaranteed not to be considered citizens, so you can't even conscript them.

that's the worst part about public service tbh, the waiting list takes like 3 years so you either get called up during that time or wait the whole 3 years for an exemption, and in the meantime everything like traveling abroad or getting a job gets completely screwed, you can't do anything properly for 3 years, same thing happened to me so I just worked at my dad's business to get my public service done and went to college late lol

Trying to squeeze people into public service work is just sick. There's already a massive backlog for public service assignments, so I don't get why they'd force more people in.
