Why even play ranked if you're not trying to win?

Honestly, the only way to avoid people like that is to just climb. If someone actually cared about team comp and played properly, why would they be stuck in the same rank as me? There's really no comeback to that.... It's super frustrating, but I think just ignoring them is the best way to go. You're the only one getting stressed out otherwise.

Since the way ranked and normal games play out is so different, some people just play for fun even in ranked, while others only play for fun in normals and go try-hard in ranked.. Then there are those who go full try-hard even in normals or ARAM. If you can't wrap your head around it, just tell yourself "I guess that's just how they are" and move on.

Ranked is just a game after all. People play to have fun, not necessarily just to win. If winning was the only goal, everyone would be chatting and cooperating, but the moment people shut their mouths and play, they're just doing whatever they want. When people say "mute all!", they're basically saying [I have no intention of communicating], which is a culture that doesn't really care about winning... It's a team game, after all... In the end, most people want to win by [carrying the game themselves], not by [making sure their teammates have a good time winning]... You didn't do anything wrong. It's just a difference in perspective.
