If what freedom of speech has created is a vermin like Ilbe, then I think it needs to be controlled to some extent. After all, even in developed countries, certain statements are punished... Germany's law punishing Nazi apologia.
The thing is, the 'anyone can report' part is true, but the actual process for a third party to report a post is so damn strict that unless someone's writing actual garbage tier shitpost, the stuff people were worried about like getting sued over it just doesn't really happen.
Still, the fact that a law like this even exists in the first place is honestly kinda unsettling regardless.
really shows how opgg doesn't do its job keeps letting player defamation slide and political bait posts too just admit it already you're a biased management team
Ah, since this is just a chat board, let me say one thing: talking to a Japanese person about this is pretty pointless. The LDP's dictatorship continues, and they're war criminals running a military—but even if you bring that up, the people there don't even realize they're war criminals. They're closer to subjects than citizens, so it's not like they're born stupid or anything.
yo do you really think everyone on this sub is a 2찍 (hardcore Lee Jae-myung supporter) just cause it's a gaming community with lots of young Korean guys? lol when the actual fucking insurrection happened these clowns crawled into a hole and shut up like cockroaches, and now they're having a meltdown over a law that goes after people spreading fake news to stir shit up — which isn't even a real thing thats happened yet, it's just like oh nooo it *might* be applied too harshly and hurt free speech lol if the law works as intended everyone should be for it right? lol the only people triggered by this law are the ones who've been getting off on fake community forum rumors and running around stirring shit in the first place, dont you think? lol stop whining like a little bitch about the 'gag law' and point out cases where it's actually misapplied and causes problems. the same hypocrites who shit themselves over Lee Jae-myung's rap sheet from 20 years ago turn a blind eye to Yoon Seok-yeol, a full-blown criminal with a record too long to even list, and then pretend to be all woke and critical of reality by crying 'gag law' — why does that piss me off so much lol
???: (to his Japanese friend) blablabla Lee Jae-myung is this and that crime blablabla
Japanese friend: Eh? That kinda guy can be president?
???: Fairness and common sense, long live Daddy Yoon
I don't think that's right. Even during the Japanese colonial period, they made our country a colony, but if they had truly inherited that tradition, would they have valued freedom?
협곡의전령과바론은커플임LMAO what the hell is this person even saying, their argument makes zero sense. The original comment was talking about hereditary succession in Japan's Diet, pointing out that Japanese politics is just as closed-off and that we have no reason to act surprised since Korea isn't any different in that regard. then out of nowhere why the hell are they bringing up Japanese colonial era and freedom n bullshit? like where did that even come from??
Funny, 3 upvotes. Comments aren't engaging so it's all 3 downvotes..

Japanese politics are also handed down through families for generations, but I'm not sure about the criminal stuff.

I mean, Japan's literally a country where parliamentary seats are passed down like family heirlooms, so is it really that surprising lol
