Jayce Tips and Skin Recommendations (Personal Opinion)

(Jayce skin rankings below, long post warning) Hey? I'm a newbie at OP.GG. Let me get straight to the point. Jayce is super strong right now, and I'm gonna talk about top lane Jayce in particular. First off, the reason top Jayce is so strong is because his auto-attack animation got better (though his Cannon form animation still isn't great...), and because the top lane melee AD champions have fallen off. (like how Aatrox got nerfed recently) Max skills in Q-W-E order. Take Q at level 1, E at level 2. At level 3, take W or put another point in Q, it's up to you. When starting in cannon form: QE-W (activate W) - R - QW - aa aa aa - E. The reason I use QE is to catch the opponent off guard so they can't react. When starting in hammer form: QW (on a minion near the enemy champ) - aa E - R - W aa aa aa - EQ. The reason I use Q on a minion is because it's an AoE skill, so even if you hit a minion, the slow and damage still apply to the nearby enemy champion.

Jayce Runes Phase Rush: To prevent getting ganked and when you need to chase. Arcane Comet: When you wanna dominate the lane. Kleptomancy: When the enemy is an immobile champ that you can easily proc Klepto with your W-aa-aa. Electrocute: Not common on top, but when you want to burst and disengage.

Jayce Build: Youmuu's - boots - Duskblade - Black Cleaver - Guardian Angel - Lord Dom's or Mortal Reminder

Against tanks: Youmuu's - boots - Black Cleaver - Blade of the Ruined King - Mortal Reminder or Lord Dom's - Guardian Angel

If the enemy AP is strong, you can get a Maw of Malmortius in between.

Last but not least, here are my personal Jayce skin recommendations: 4th: Jayce the Paladin: Decent value for money.

3rd: Corrupted Jayce: Some of you might be wondering why it's 3rd. Personally, I don't like it because the weapon looks like it's all one piece, and when the Q explodes after passing through the gate, it doesn't feel satisfying. But the gate itself looks really cool. (+ voice change)

2nd: Full Metal Jayce: The design looks like a mecha/project, so it's the coolest, but unfortunately the skill effects don't change much. (+ voice change)

1st: Debonair Jayce: I think I would have bought this even at 1350 RP. It's great value, clean design, and the skill effects change from blue to sky blue. The gate also looks clean.

Jayce counters: Aatrox, Irelia, Yasuo science Champs Jayce beats: Teemo, Gnar, Akali
