When do you go Vamp Scepter boots on Viktor?

I get that people build Lucidity or Sorc Shoes on him, but I can't really tell if Vamp Boots are better in a fight. Is it more of a 'check your team comp, and if no one's gonna hard shove side lanes, you grab the sustain and do it yourself' kinda thing?

      Yeah, surprisingly some people do go it sometimes. But the meta pick still seems to be Sorc Shoes. Ionian Boots are pretty nice too. And Mercs, if the enemy has a lot of CC and some AP threat. But as for Bloodthirster/Vamp boots, they're almost never taken— but I've seen them rarely. Kinda like when Ionian Boots, Swifties, and Mercs all feel awkward, you need some sustain, but you're at an awkward gold amount where you can't quite afford Sorc Shoes. Honestly, not 100% sure though.

    It's for when you don't really need anything else... Enemy team doesn't have much CC so you don't need Mercury's, and you're not getting auto-attacked much so you skip Tabis. You have enough gold that you don't need Ionian boots, and you don't really need magic pen either so why would you go Sorc Shoes?
