For example, love << Sounds romantic, but in reality, it's a ridiculously inefficient emotion.
It consumes so much emotional and cognitive energy on something that might ultimately be meaningless. Isn't it an emotion that's mostly just a hindrance unless you actually need it? Plus, because of its nature, you can't run it in parallel. Usually, you only like one person, so if that one thing goes wrong, you take a total loss with no Plan B.
Wouldn't it be great if we could just keep it turned off normally, and then switch it on when we feel the need for dating or marriage?
I wish I could turn off my anger and irritation like a switch.
