If I can never know I'm a brain in a vat my whole life, don't I just live happily and die?
A brain in a vat fears the moment it realizes its life was fake, but if you never find out, there's nothing to fear.
The whole premise of a brain in a vat is that you're living a happy fake life to begin with.
If someone's goal is to keep me happy, then no matter how badly I screw up my life, they'd find a way — even make me win the lottery — to make sure I end up happy, right?
