My friends say I'm good at reading the map for grub fights and scuttle skirmishes, but man, I really have no clue in lane. I do keep track of when the enemy blows sums or key abilities, but I just can't seem to punish the window... this game's way too hard for me.

휴긴구지Honestly, it's just a lack of experience. Sure, the guys you're laning against right now might have a similar rank to you, but they could easily have a few hundred more hours actually invested in the game. You gotta be visualizing the enemy's spell ranges in your head. 'If I stay this far back, I won't get hit.' Or, 'If I juke this way, they'll probably throw their skillshot where I'm heading, so I should bait it and move the opposite direction.' Or, 'They're gonna predict my cast and side-step, so I should aim my spell a little behind them.' That's what basic lane psychology (game sense) really is, and it sounds like that part isn't clicking for you yet. You just gotta play more games while constantly giving yourself feedback. And if you really want to improve, go watch your own replays like you'd review a friend's — find out where you're messing up.

휴긴구지What my friends mean by "you're good at showing up for objectives" is probably just something like looking at how many teammates you have vs the enemy team + their positioning, and being like oh wait this is a 3v2 we have the advantage, worth trying right? Not like actually thinking through what skills those 3 and 2 have and then deciding it's favorable — just seeing your team grouped on an obj and then wandering over to try and join in.
