I haven't really thought about it lately since I've only been playing normals or flex queue
But after crushing it in solo queue on my main for the first time in a while, I felt like writing something
My soulmate duo is a Yuumi one-trick, so I've had to play with a cat on my shoulder a lot
1. Just brainless Yuumi first pick When you're playing with Yuumi, it's actually better for the ADC to get the counter pick. Usually, if Yuumi is picked first, the enemies underestimate us and lock in their bot lane early, which makes it easy to counter them. Of course, this only applies if your duo is a one-trick or if you're like me and can't really play well with anything other than Yuumi
2. Essential champion pool I think Tristana is absolutely mandatory (she can handle most situations), and other solid picks are Lucian and Sivir. Zeri usually gets shut down because the enemies will pick hard CC, and I don't think Zeri-Yuumi is even that good of a combo anymore. Also, you need to be ready to pull out Nilah as a joker pick. Otherwise, you just can't deal with stuff like Samira, Kai'Sa + Pantheon, or Leona
3. You have to play to win the lane Stuff like picking Ezreal and just scaling safely<< that only worked when Yuumi's value was insane, but it's trash now. Sivir is the closest to a "scaling" pick, but Sivir-Yuumi feels best when you're hard shoving and poking them down... One of the reasons I recommend Trist is because level 2 Trist-Yuumi is actually violently strong. Remember, once you crush the lane, most of Yuumi's weaknesses disappear. An ADC with two summoner spells and triple buffs from QWE is surprisingly strong in a 1v1, so play aggressively. Even though I'm just a hardstuck Emerald 3~4, I was out there beating up Emerald 1 and 2 ADCs today
But man, you can really feel the Yuumi nerfs. There's a reason her average win rate is 47%. Especially in this Miss Fortune meta, Yuumi isn't a great pick whether she's with MF or against her, so it feels even worse. I bet Yuumi's gonna stay in the coffin until she gets some adjustments, right? Well, playing with a cat is still fun though
