[Build] A New Way to Have Fun with Azir! "Don't You Dare Ignore Me, Azir"

Introduction

Azir  Have you guys ever tried Azir?

If so, what part of this trash champ do you even play him for? blitzcrank_sad_confused_inventory

Personally, I started playing Azir because of the trick plays with his ultimate, Emperor's Divide, and how destructive he is in teamfights. Emperor's Divide em_ezreal_cheers_02_inventory

But the more I played Azir, I realized nothing beats that shink! of the sand soldiers. A skill with that much range and that much damage? WOW! Arise!

So I figured that was the *real fun part* of playing Azir.

But hey, isn't it the fate of us hardstuck Silver players to never be satisfied with the usual builds and cook up some absolute garbage instead? fizz_taunt_inventory

What would be the best way to maximize the fun of [Arise!], the core part of Azir, and really reach the ultimate peak? The Boredom of the Infinite

The answer was simple. Just stack so much attack speed that the sand soldiers' spines snap!! On the Hunt

Main Body

1. Runes

Runes don't really matter much. Nothing beats Lethal Tempo for attack speed!

2. Items

Core 1

Nashor's Tooth

Nashor's just has insane synerg♡y with Azir, from the on-hit to the base stats, so even for a new build, Nashor's is a must.

(Nashor's is literally god...)

Core 2

Guinsoo's Rageblade

This item is also an absolute must when we're talking attack speed. Plus, its unique passive lets you max out on-hit effects. So Guinsoo's Rageblade gets the Core 2 slot!

(The AP from base stats is kinda sneaky good too.)

Core 3

Vigilant Wardstone

Oh my god, what is this!??! What does Azir even get from a trash item like this?!

Hmm, beats me. But! The magic pen and the resists from Vigilant Wardstone are like a godsend, giving back everything you lose by going AS build!!

Utility AND attack speed, what a deal!!

Core 4

Shadowflame

And here it is. The 【GOAT】 of AP items. Shadowflame fills up your pitifully lacking AP, turning this trash heap of a build into a real stew. It's a *core item.*

Core 5

Locked Weapon Slot

I dunno? Whatever happens, happens...

I thought Core 5 should be situational, based on how the game's going, not a set item. There's tons of people who read the game better than me, so saying this is the correct answer would just be arrogant.Arrogance

@@OKAY, I GOTTA SAY THIS THO!!

  1. When you complete Shadowflame, the *peak DPS* of this build is comparable to a full build. (Tried it several times)

2. Sure, the damage is weak before you stack your attack speed. But honestly? It's rare for Azir to not be able to kite for 5~6 seconds.

3. Skills do less damage, yeah, but your main damage is still your W autos. I'm not saying this build is better—it's just the result of me experimenting to make an Azir that plays more like an ADC than a mage, which is a charm I wanted to explore.

  1. Weaknesses "Build is complete ass until you get Vigilant Wardstone." "It's expensive because you're forced to buy some useless AD stat." There's one logic to these complaints though. The timing overlaps with when laning phase ends, and what is Azir really doing at that point? It usually boils down to *skirmishing* and *sidelaning*.

*1. Azir's skirmish value is pretty high, right? Unless our team's damage is god-awful, you'll still do enough damage to steal kills. *2. For sidelane, you're mostly farming under tower catching waves. With your long-range W poke, it becomes really annoying for the enemy to lane against you. Your wave clear isn't slow either, so they can't really pin you down.

Either way, Azir's growth never really stops.

  1. Unavoidable Weaknesses If the enemy has champions that can dive in and blow up your backline (especially bruisers), this build is straight garbage. amumu_sad_crying_inventory

(Will add more if there are questions)

In Closing...

When I was using this build and Azir's shink shink kept going off nonstop, I just came and went, you know...

I wrote this in the hopes that you guys would also give it a try.

The name "Don't You Dare Ignore Me, Azir" means that if you ignore him for even 5 seconds, he becomes a wrecking ball that just keeps stabbing and stabbing and stabbing you, so I thought it was fitting.

Thanks for reading this, however long it was.em_nurse_akali_inventory

Now that I look at it, it just looks like a Hail of Blades build lol
