Skills to Watch Out For When Taking Raptors

1. Master Yi Q   Because you go untargetable when you use Alpha Strike,

if you've already drawn aggro from the Raptors and then Q, the two baby raptors will bolt out of the pit and run toward lane, causing a raptor leak — unless the wave is super pushed in.

They run out to a weird spot and then come back, which exposes your pathing and can be risky.

This is especially dangerous when you're counter-jungling, so I'd recommend opening with Alpha Strike when taking Raptors whenever possible.

2. Viego E   As you know, when Viego's E hits a wall, the mist spreads across the entire wall surface.

So if you casually use E while clearing, the mist zone can extend outside the Raptor pit, basically screaming to the mid lane:

"Hey, I'm eating Raptors right now~ come take advantage~!"

For the same reason, it exposes your position when taking objectives or counter-jungling. And if an enemy champ comes to steal your jungle camp, they can pinpoint your location from the mist on the wall.

So I'd recommend not hitting the wall with E during clears—just use the basic floor mist instead.

3. Nocturne Q   Surprisingly, a lot of people don't know this: Nocturne's Q will also leak through the wall and reveal you if you use it too close to the Raptors.

So for Nocturne too, I'd recommend casting Q from far away before walking into the camp.

4. Trundle W   Same reason as Nocturne—his W has such a huge range that it exposes your position.

Make sure the edge of the W doesn't poke outside the pit.

Other ground-effect skills like Xin Zhao's W can easily give away your pathing too, so it's best to avoid using them while clearing, or at least make sure they don't extend past the wall.
