if good players rank up too fast they stop playing ranked and the player pool shrinks, so the system just forces them to lose to keep them grinding more games
That's also a factor, but the opposite case is bigger.. Good players are usually young (you can tell from pros) and don't spend much on the game (since not spending doesn't affect wins or losses). But bad players are usually working adults or older, don't play often, but can afford to spend money. Selling skins to these bad working adults is Riot's main revenue source. If these people lose ranked games all the time, they lose interest and quit or stop buying skins. So Riot forces good players to carry them so they win, ultimately aiming to make them spend money.
니코샹코Riot's a for-profit company after all.. Since LoL's a game you can play without spending a cent (unlike Nexon games where paying literally boosts your character's stats, right?), they've had their programmers put in the bare minimum system to make sure they still profit from it.
i think it's cuz league is too hard to evaluate skill or something.. so riot came up with this idea that if they match people to converge to the average, the game would be fun or whatever so they match a fucking good player with a fucking trash player on the same team if the trash player is bad enough that i can still win by trying hard i can kinda understand it but those games are only like one or two and at some point you gotta soothe and coax trolls and even when you wanna win you just lose more and more so i get pissed and to relieve stress i start doing the same shit riot has been letting this go for years and eventually trolls become the kings and with matchmaking that creates huge skill gaps between veterans and newbies if one person is clueless it's just a loss matchmaking is broken game quality drops and i'm like are we playing to have fun or is this a challenge to endure patience from that point i think the game is on the path to being fucked
oh and also even if your win rate is high, as you play more games, at some point you get more losses. it seems like the matchmaking algorithm itself is designed that way. so that's why the 50% matchmaking rigging theory exists.
they already officially confirmed that matchmaking converges to a 50% win rate and the reason is to increase playtime. looking at the stats and just around you, not as many people play league like they used to. more people just quit and only watch streams. player count dropped a lot. and looking at the tier population or whatever is pointless because one person has like 5 smurf accounts, so it's all just smurf piles. try dividing each tier's population by 5. not all of them are smurfs but that's the minimum.
Isn't that to trap the players?
