How to Buy LoL Figures (Mind-Blown Warning)

I'm the OP.GG bro who bought the Faker Ahri figure. A lot of people in the comments were asking how to buy figures, so I put this together.

1. Where to Buy

Online, just use the Riot Store or hit up specialty figure shops. Most stuff is on the Riot Store, but sometimes specialty shops have things the Riot Store doesn't. And occasionally they're cheaper too.

Offline, you'll obviously find them at LoL Park, and if you go to weeb malls like Hongdae AK Plaza or National Electronics, you'll sometimes spot LoL figures.

2. How to Choose Figures LoL figures can be split into two main types: Riot's own in-house products or outsourced from specialist figure manufacturers. Even the in-house stuff is obviously outsourced somewhere, but they don't say which company they contracted with.

The manufacturer name is written in English in parentheses next to the product name. No parentheses means it's an in-house product. But lots of products that aren't in-house also don't list the manufacturer, so you gotta look carefully.

In-house products are generally lower quality compared to ones from specialized manufacturers. The top one is Xayah from Hobby Max, a figure specialist. The bottom is the in-house Unlocked Xayah. Of course, the price difference is pretty big, and the Unlocked line is decent for what you pay.

Basically, if you buy something with a manufacturer name in parentheses, you'll pay more but get better quality. That's all you need to know.

3. My Personal Take on Each Manufacturer APEX products K/DA series, Kai'Sa, PROJECT: Ashe Overall quality is decent but nothing special. The PROJECT: Ashe is an articulated figure, but its range of motion is pretty limited, so posing is restrictive. But Ahri and Kai'Sa's faces came out a bit too cutesy compared to the splash art.

Aside from these, the K/DA Kai'Sa and K/DA ALL OUT Kai'Sa are up for pre-order.

Good Smile Star Guardian Ahri, Nendoroid Ahri They're well known for the Nendoroid line (deformed/decorative figures) and the Pop Up Parade budget line. They also make mid-to-high-end scale figures really well. If they make it, you can count on the quality matching the price.

They also have scale figures of Star Guardian Zoe, Star Guardian Jinx, and Elementalist Lux, as well as Nendoroids of Miss Fortune, Jinx, Ashe, Kai'Sa, Sona, Lux, and Ezreal. The 1/7 scale Vayne and the Arcane Jinx Nendoroid are up for pre-order.

Other Good Smile products The top two are the budget Pop Up Parade ones, the SD ones below are from the Nendoroid line. They crank out figures for all sorts of IPs, and even the budget ones come out decent, so among the figures I own, these are up there as some of the best.

Mythos Spirit Blossom Ahri I've only bought this one from them, so I don't know much about their style. Seems like they're pretty good too.

Besides Ahri, they also have Jinx, Sona, and Immortal Hero Irelia. I remember the Jinx figure had particularly good reviews.

Hobby Max I only have the Xayah from them too. The manufacturer is pretty well known. Originally Xayah and Rakan came as a set and were sold together, but I just bought Xayah alone. For LoL figures, Xayah and Rakan are the ultimate.

I wanted to buy a Radio Eva Rei but missed the pre-order window and couldn't get it. Fuck.
